Princess Kako, the younger daughter of Crown Prince Akishino, took part in the Girl Scouts of Japan 100th Anniversary International Camp at Togakushi Girl Scout Center in Nagano on Sunday.
About 90 junior high and high school students from across the country participated in the event with themes such as gender equality. Princess Kako, sporting the same pale blue ribbon as the other participants, listened to presentations from 20 groups while taking notes. At a later meeting, she praised the reports, saying they were excellent and well-organized.
In the evening, she joined other students and used a torch to light a campfire. She stood around the fire and clapped along with the song “Moeroyo, Moero” (Burn, burn).
